If anyone had their Friends page cluttered last night when I was trying to post my new story, I'm sorry about that. The latest LJ update broke large posts, so that it just eats the text at random. I'll have to delay posting of The Ropes Stay On, a gift fic for meroko26 until it's fixed.

It's too bad, I was really looking forward to finishing and posting this one. ^_^;

They always screw something up when they decide to update. How long did it take the last time they had an update that messed up the site? I can't remember anymore about the last time, just that it had been in December. Maybe soon?

astronewt said in one of the update threads that they've fixed the long posts being eaten issue. The limit was actually 1,200 words - anything over that wasn't working properly. Since I was first getting the "exceeds character limit" message when I was trying to post, I spent time fussing with the html to get it under the 65k character limit. (I've encountered this issue several times before - I'd always prefer a long one-shot to shorter chaptered pieces, but Livejournal doesn't. ;x)

There's another issue where editing will eat tags and change userpics and security settings, but I haven't checked on whether they've fixed that or not.

Last time I'm not sure how long it took to fix the issues - I just started using my style on all of LJ because the new comment form they made with R88 wasn't reliably working for me, especially on a mobile. Scrapbook was broken for me most of the time until they changed to the new style, so I'm not sure about any fixes they may have made in the meantime.

But I think fixing ability to post was probably pretty high priority today. ;x
